LM JV | Laing O’Rourke / Murphy Joint Venture

LM, the joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons Limited, has secured the HS2 Enabling Works Contract Area North. This contract has a duration of approximately four years, and the geographical coverage is indicated here:

Our scope is to carry out works and services that will prepare the route and pave the way for the Main Works Civils Contracts and Railway Systems Contracts to follow.

There are significant opportunities for the supply chain to get involved in this project.  The main categories of subcontract and services contracts that we will procure are described below:

Surveys including topographical, ground investigation, structural, ecological, archaeological, GPR, utility tag and trace, agricultural/soil sampling, invasive species, pre-demolition – Demolition – Ground remediation – Minor and major civils works – Highways works – Watercourse diversions – Archaeological investigations – Ecology mitigation works – Invasive species mitigation works – Utility diversions – Planting – Instrumentation and monitoring

Many of the procurement opportunities listed above for the EWC Area North will take place over the next 18 months, and we will give notice of key dates as our supply chain strategies develop alongside HS2.  All opportunities will be advertised in CompeteFor, so it is important that you register below as soon as possible.  You will then be notified automatically of appropriate opportunities for your business, as they come on line.

We are committed to making the supplier assurance and prequalification process on this project – and the wider construction industry – as efficient as possible, and therefore suppliers’ existing qualifications (for example, Achilles RISQS, Constructionline, SSIP) contribute to Supplier Assurance for LM’s HS2 Enabling Works Contract.
