On Thursday 24 April, we launched our Lift Off Q2 2026 challenge, focused on the theme of Creating an Extraordinary Place to Work.
This challenge supports Heathrow’s ambition to create an environment
where every colleague feels valued, heard, and proud to belong. It aligns with our continued focus on strengthening colleague voice, enhancing inclusion, and improving everyday workplace experiences across the airport. By investing in facilities, engagement, and innovation, we are working to make Heathrow an exceptional place for everyonewho works here.
To help bring this vision to life, we are inviting SMEs to put forward creative and sustainable ideas that can transform both the physical environment and the overall colleague experience. This call for applications is centred on three priority areas:
Repurposing & Reusing Old Uniforms – scalable and sustainable solutions that give new life to old uniforms, keeping materials in circulation while reducing waste and enhancing colleague pride and connection.
Creative Use of Indoor Spaces – innovative ideas to reimagine underused or high‑traffic indoor areas, introducing wellbeing spaces, quiet zones, collaborative environments, or flexible pop‑up concepts that improve comfort, connection, and morale.
Creative Use of Outdoor Spaces – imaginative approaches to transform outdoor areas into vibrant, functional spaces, including social or relaxation zones, activity areas, and modular environments that can adapt for events, team activities, or seasonal use.
As always, Lift Off continues to foster collaboration between Heathrow and SMEs, encouraging fresh thinking and innovative solutions that can meaningfully improve how our colleagues experience the workplace.
We look forward to receiving ideas that champion sustainability, creativity, and inclusion, helping us shape what an extraordinary place to work truly looks like at Heathrow.
