Scotland Excel: Procurement for Local Authorities
David McQuade - March 3, 2017

Scotland Excel is embarking on an exciting period of change that will see them capitalise on past success and achieve their vision to become the partner of choice for local government.

They have secured additional funding for a range of new projects which will see them extend their reach in social care, introduce a small value contract team in response to customer demand and provide a new range of services for social landlords and the housing sector.

As they enter this new phase, they have a number of opportunities to recruit procurement professionals at all levels, and are expanding teams in other areas of the business.

Why not come along to their event in Glasgow on 7 March to find out more about these opportunities and about the benefits of working at Scotland Excel?  You can drop in any time between 4pm and 6pm.

Strategic Procurement Manager Andrew Richmond will look at how their Social Care contracts support the delivery of better and more effective public services, while Category Account Analyst Barry Phillips considers the importance of the community benefits that Scotland Excel insist on in every contract we develop. Senior procurement specialist Lynsey Gordon will examine how their contracts support Scottish suppliers and producers, while Director Julie Welsh will explain how they deliver social value, drive innovation, support policy priorities and, ultimately, help to sustain the services that every community needs.

Members of the Scotland Excel team will also be on hand to chat about their jobs, and will be happy to discuss any roles you are interested in. It’s an informal opportunity to discuss your career interests and see whether they match with current and future opportunities.

Scotland Excel is also keen to hear from you if you are currently working in another business area and are considering a career change to procurement. If you have in-depth knowledge of one of our key category areas (particularly social care or construction), commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills, we can provide advice on your next steps.
