The construction and property group Kier have recently been appointed, alongside fellow company BAM Nuttall, to the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) £30Bn ‘Construction Works and Associated Services Framework’.
Under the ‘Construction Works and Associated Services Framework’, Kier has successfully been appointed to a total of 18 Lots spanning the across the division public sector construction, as part of a seven year contract.
The new framework has been designed to complement existing CCS frameworks and is the first ever government led construction framework/arrangement that the whole of the public sector can utilise to discover contractor companies which can deliver new schools, hospitals, office buildings, universities, prisons, and houses.
This means that public sector bodies can avoid having to carry out their own lengthy and expensive procurement processes and can quickly assign projects to recommended contractors with exemplary track records for delivering high quality development over a short construction period.
This new ‘Construction and Associated Services Framework’ will connect customers with contractors and supply chain companies for access to a variety of goods, works, and service arrangements to facilitate efficient management of built assets and property/estate requirements.
The Chief Executive of Kier, Andrew Davies stated: “This award demonstrates the strength of our relationships with Government and public sector clients, while also supporting our strategic focus around long-term frameworks for Government, regulated entities and blue-chip customers.”
Earlier this year, Kier was appointed to various different construction frameworks such as: the Procure Partnerships Framework, the Southern Construction Framework, SEWSCAP3, the Hampshire Intermediate Construction Framework, the North West Construction Hub Medium and High Value Frameworks, and the North Wales Construction Framework.
BAM Nuttall has also been appointed to a grand total of six Lots and has also been appointed to a Lot for the provision of Airside Infrastructure, covering the likes of airports and security check points.
