A new ‘GO Awards Wales’ ceremony to celebrate achievements within public procurement in Wales has been launched today by Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government Mark Drakeford.

Launching the awards, the Finance Secretary is encouraging people across Wales to nominate an individual or organisation who has achieved great things in the field of procurement in Wales. The nomination process is now open until 8 August.The inaugural ‘Go Awards Wales’, organised by the Welsh Government, will take place on 6 October 2016 at the Marriott hotel in Cardiff.

Mark Drakeford said“Wales is at the forefront of best practice public sector procurement in the UK. There is a great deal to celebrate and these new GO awards provide a perfect occasion to showcase all of the good work taking place across Wales.

“If you know of an individual or an organisation who has achieved great things within Welsh public sector procurement, please take the time to nominate. By sharing best practice we can build on the successes to date and ensure that we continue to deliver better public services through procurement.”
