CDE Innovation Network event taking place in October
Nick Frame - October 13, 2015

The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) will be holding a networking event for science and technology providers in London on 21 October 2015.

The event will take place in London at the Grand Connaught Rooms, 9:30am to 4pm. Jim Pennycook, Head of Operations at CDE, will introduce CDE and give an overview of proof-of-concept research funding opportunities for innovative science and technology providers.

Technical experts from Dstl (the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) and the UK Defence Solutions Centre (UKDSC) will provide specific information about the themed competition: autonomy and big data for defence. This competition has up to £2m available for fully funded phase-1 projects.

In addition, Bruce Hardie, CDE’s Technology Manager, will talk about how to create an effective proposal for CDE funding and CDE’s enduring competition. Attendees will be able to book a face-to-face meeting with CDE, UKDSC and subject matter experts to discuss potential proposals to the 4 challenges in the ‘autonomy and big data for defence’ themed competition.

There are networking opportunities with other potential bidders, currentDstl suppliers, CDE, Dstl and military experts.

CDE funds novel, high-risk, high-potential-benefit research. They work with the broadest possible range of science and technology providers, including academia and small companies, to develop cost-effective capabilities for UK armed forces and national security.

Registration closes on Friday 16 October at 12:30pm.
