So as part of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/sellafield-ltd\/\">Sellafield Ltd<\/a>\u2019s Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Hub, we\u2019re committed to working alongside our supply partners to set new safety standards that allow us to stay safe in everything we do.<\/p>\n<p class=\"spacingBelow\">Ensuring every Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) entering Sellafield meets the highest standards before being used on-site is crucial to staying Knowingly Safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\" data-text-type=\"withSpacing\">The first MEWP has now successfully completed its inspection at our newly implemented MEWP inspection area at Yottenfews crane testing facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\">The MEWP, which will go onto our SIXEP Continuity Plant (SCP), underwent the inspection to ensure compliance with the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/2024\/07\/03\/mewp-standard-is-raising-the-bar\/\">PDD MEWP standard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\">The inspection process, carried out in alignment with the newly established MEWP standard, has set a new benchmark for equipment safety on PPP and all major projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\">Following a thorough evaluation, the MEWP was signed off and approved for use on the Sellafield site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\">The inspection verified that all critical safety features were fully operational, including the newly mandated secondary guarding systems, such as pressure and proximity sensing devices and physical barriers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\">Dan Roberts, SHE manager for site improvements, said:\u00a0\u201cThis milestone reinforces our commitment to safety by ensuring that every MEWP entering Sellafield meets the highest standards before deployment on-site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove spacingBelow\">\u201cBy proactively implementing this inspection process, we are enhancing workforce safety, reducing risk, and ensuring MEWP operations are as secure and compliant as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within the construction industry, incidents involving work at height, are high risk.
