{"id":883,"date":"2025-02-13T13:54:41","date_gmt":"2025-02-13T13:54:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/?p=883"},"modified":"2025-02-13T13:54:41","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T13:54:41","slug":"srp-roof-slab-concrete-pour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/2025\/02\/13\/srp-roof-slab-concrete-pour\/","title":{"rendered":"SRP&#8217;s roof slab concrete pour gets underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"noSpacingAbove noSpacingBelow\" data-text-type=\"noSpacing\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-884\" src=\"http:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2025\/02\/Screenshot-2025-02-13-134746.png\" alt=\"The first of seven concrete pours on the roof slab of SRP's process building got underway\" width=\"553\" height=\"536\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove noSpacingBelow\" data-text-type=\"noSpacing\">The first of seven concrete pours on the roof slab of SRP&#8217;s process building got underway last week as it progresses towards being fully weathertight, a project wide objective the team is expected to achieve in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>Around 350 cubic metres of concrete was poured at a rate of 35 cubic metres per hour, pumped up to a height of 30 metres after being delivered using five concrete wagons, in rotation, from our on-site batching plant.<\/p>\n<p>The placing, compacting, and screeding of the concrete was led by a team of 11 people with support from engineers, marshals and technicians.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Manager Gerry Coan said: \u00a0\u201cThe start of the roof slab concrete pour would not have been possible without the efforts of a whole team of people, which includes our steel-fixers, joiners, marshals, plant and crane operatives, and all the engineering, safety and quality support teams.
