{"id":829,"date":"2025-01-28T09:59:38","date_gmt":"2025-01-28T09:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/?p=829"},"modified":"2025-01-28T09:59:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-28T09:59:38","slug":"apprentices-and-mentors-honoured-william-hare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/2025\/01\/28\/apprentices-and-mentors-honoured-william-hare\/","title":{"rendered":"Apprentices and mentors honoured at William Hare Group awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"noSpacingAbove noSpacingBelow\" data-text-type=\"noSpacing\">An award-winner from our Key Delivery Partner (KDP), William Hare Group, thanked the support of two of our teams in helping her achieve her goals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"noSpacingAbove noSpacingBelow\" data-text-type=\"noSpacing\">Liv Merriman won William Hare Group\u2019s Office Apprentice of the Year at the firm\u2019s annual awards ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Liv is an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, who has worked on both our Box Encapsulation Plant Product Store 2 (BEPPS2) and Replacement Analytical Project (RAP) during her fledgling career.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cThis award isn\u2019t just recognition of my efforts, but also a testament to the incredible support from my team \u2013 I couldn\u2019t have done it without them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve spent the last year working within PPP\u2019s core projects of RAP and BEPPS2. It\u2019s been a massive learning curve, with every day filled with different experiences and lessons. I\u2019ve had so much support from everyone I have worked with across both projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_830\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-830\" style=\"width: 1075px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-830\" src=\"http:\/\/www.competefor.com\/sellafield\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2025\/01\/Screenshot_28-1-2025_94530_.jpeg\" alt=\"William Hare Group award winners pictured in the stand with the Elland Road pitch behind them.\" width=\"1075\" height=\"603\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-830\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>William Hare Group award winners<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There was more joy at the in-house awards, held at Leeds United\u2019s Elland Road stadium. Paul Lovatt, a Lead Engineer on BEPPS2, who also worked on SRP, was presented with the Mentor of the Year award.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cBeing involved in our apprenticeship scheme for many years, it came as a major surprise, and acknowledgment, to receive the accolade of Mentor of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with great pride to win this after nominations from both my peers and early career employees whom I work with.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>More award wins<\/h4>\n<p>Zafeerah Bagas was also a winner, named 2024\u2019s Production Apprentice of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Zafeerah was involved in the fabrication of our Sellafield Product and Residue Store Retreatment Plan (SRP) main roof trusses.<\/p>\n<p>William Hare Group also won a second Platinum accredited membership via The 5% Club&#8217;s 2023-24 Employer Audit Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The award recognises significant contribution to the continued development of employees through apprenticeships, graduate schemes, and sponsored student placements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An award-winner from our Key Delivery Partner (KDP), William Hare Group, thanked the support of two of our teams in helping her achieve her goals.
