Our Chief Programme Officer, Morag Stuart will be joining HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd in January 2026 as their Chief Commercial Officer.
Morag joined the New Hospital Programme (NHP) in 2021 and during her four years with us has overseen:
- The approval of a fully funded Programme Business Case, setting out a clear pathway to deliver all schemes through waves of investment.
- The development of Hospital 2.0 – a standard, platform-based design approach co-developed with patients and staff to transform how hospitals are built and operated.
- The successful appointment of the Healthcare Delivery Partnership, our programme delivery partner for the next 15 years.
- The launch of the Hospital 2.0 Alliance procurement – a 12-year, £37bn Delivery Alliance.
As Morag moves on to her next role, our Chief Operating Officer, Natalie Forrest, will take on the position of Interim Chief Programme Officer, while Richard Lennard, Commercial Director, will become Deputy Chief Programme Officer from January 2026, taking accountability for elements of the COO portfolio and retaining oversight of the programme’s Commercial directorate. This continuity will ensure continued focus on delivery for patients and staff.
“I would like to thank Morag for the leadership and commitment she has shown. She has been instrumental in setting up the New Hospital Programme, ensuring it can efficiently deliver multiple new state-of-the-art hospitals in parallel. Her move to HS2 Ltd is a great example of public sector partners working together to deploy experienced leadership across major government programmes. I wish her all the best and know the programme is in safe hands with the interim leadership arrangements we have put in place.”
— Elizabeth O’Mahony, Chief Financial Officer, NHS England
We’d like to thank Morag for her outstanding contribution to NHP and wish her every success in her new role.
