It aligns with our ongoing commitment to strengthening our supply chain, enhancing safety, and driving operational excellence across all retail logistics activities.<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1045 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.competefor.com\/heathrow\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2026\/03\/Collage-Image-LinkedIn-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"242\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To help us reach this vision, we invited SMEs to share forward\u2011thinking ideas that could transform the way we manage chilled goods, storage, communication, and the overall performance of our Consolidation Centre. This extended call for applications focused on four priority areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chilled Pallet Processing<\/strong> &#8211; solutions capable of receiving and safely holding chilled pallets (0\u20138\u00b0C for around six hours) without the need for manual repacking, using new media, temperature\u2011controlled technology, or alternative approaches that improve handling and reduce waste.<\/li>\n<li><strong>High\u2011Level Automated Storage<\/strong> &#8211; intelligent high\u2011bay or vertical storage systems designed to unlock height, maximise capacity during peak periods, and reduce reliance on expanding physical footprint.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Real\u2011Time Update Platform<\/strong> &#8211; a single visibility and communication hub enabling all airport stakeholders to access live updates, share information, and raise queries across departments, strengthening coordination and situational awareness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Next Big Thing<\/strong> &#8211; emerging ideas and innovations that could make the Consolidation Centre more efficient, safer, or more sustainable, spanning new handling equipment, automation opportunities, energy\u2011saving technologies, and beyond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As always, Lift Off continues to champion collaboration between Heathrow and the SME community, creating space for agile, inventive solutions that can reshape how our airport operates.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to reviewing proposals that push boundaries, solve real operational challenges, and help us refine what exceptional retail logistics can look like at Heathrow.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Apply for future Lift Off events and learn more by clicking the link below:<\/span><\/p>\n<span class=\"cta\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/business\/viewOpportunityDetailsSupplier.html?id=78960250\">Learn More<\/a><\/span>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday 20 March, we hosted our first Lift Off session of 2026, centred on the theme of Smart Retail Logistics.
