{"id":2,"date":"2017-07-06T08:26:57","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T08:26:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/hs2\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2021-02-15T14:47:47","modified_gmt":"2021-02-15T14:47:47","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.competefor.com\/ewr\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the East West Rail Alliance opportunities portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pure-u-3-5\">\n<p>As one of the most prestigious projects in the UK Infrastructure pipeline, East West Rail Phase Two (EWR2) will connect communities and businesses between Bicester and Bedford, and Milton Keynes and Aylesbury, providing passengers with much improved cross-country rail links.<\/p>\n<p>The East West Rail Alliance is responsible for the delivery of the EWR2 project and consists of Atkins, Laing O\u2019Rourke, VolkerRail and Network Rail who are working collaboratively to deliver this exciting rail project.<\/p>\n<p>The Alliance will deliver:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approximately 48km of new rail infrastructure, including new signalling, power and communication systems<\/li>\n<li>15 new bridges<\/li>\n<li>23 bridge refurbishments<\/li>\n<li>Demolition of four existing bridges<\/li>\n<li>Two new high-level platforms at Bletchley station<\/li>\n<li>A new station in Winslow<\/li>\n<li>A key intersection with High Speed 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, EWRA is carrying out complex engineering works on the Bletchley Flyover, a disused rail bridge that spans over the West Coast Mainline. Sections of the flyover will be dismantled and rebuilt so that it can accommodate the new East West Rail line, bringing the structure up to modern standards.<\/p>\n<p>The EWR Alliance is committed to supporting and developing the local and SME supply chain both directly and indirectly across various sectors, as well as delivering long term social and economic benefits to the communities that line the route of the project.<\/p>\n<p>As an Alliance, it is important that our supply chain is fully aligned with our charter, values and behaviours.
