Wates wins £25m Commercial Road contract
Wates Construction Company has won a £25m student accommodation job for the Carlyle Group on Commercial Road in East London.
Demolition specialist Cantillon has cleared the site where an old Job Centre was situated at 60 Commercial Road.
It will be replaced with a 19-storey tower containing 417 student rooms with a 25,000 sq ft office building behind.
It is understood Wates has landed the deal and completion of the office building is expected in late 2014 and the student accommodation building in summer 2015.
